"Recovery" refers to the process of regaining health or wellness after an illness, injury, or setback. It involves a combination of treatment, self-care, and support systems. It can also be understood as actively working to rebuild or improve one's life following a challenging situation. In the context of mental health this might be managing stressors such as anxiety or depression, life transitions, grief and loss, substance use or trauma.

Peer support services are an evidence-based mental health model of care. I can assist individuals with their recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges. I also support situational challenges such as life transitions, divorce, grief and loss, and self-care strategies.

You don't have to have all the answers to start. I lived with anxiety my entire life and did not get diagnosed until 2017. I knew that I worried a lot and could not seem to let things go very easily. I just thought I needed to "try harder" and "figure it out myself." Once I started talking about the way I thought about problems, worried and coped with them, I started to get clarity and make small changes. Today, my anxiety is almost non-existent on some days. At other times it flares-up situationally, but I have many healthy coping tools to manage my anxiety.
